"On the Road" Goes the Distance

 Posted by Jack Mingo on 2001/05/23 11:34:55 GMT-4 The scroll on which Jack Kerouac composed "On the Road" 50 years ago was auctioned for $2.4 million, setting the world auction record for a literary manuscript. The winning bidder was James Irsay, the owner and chief executive of the Indianapolis Colts.
