Cliff Notes Founder Dies

 Posted by George Elliot on 2001/05/06 01:17:59 GMT-4 This is the short version, meant as a study guide only: Cliff Hillegass, the founder and former president of Cliffs Notes, whose study guides helped generations of high school and college students through literature classes, died Saturday. He was 83. Hillegass founded Cliffs Notes in 1958 with a $4,000 loan, writing his study guides in the basement of his Lincoln home.
