As a huge fan of the evil and manipulative Livia, I think it's somewhat fitting to bring her back to life for a final farewell, even if it is electronically. She needs to go out with a bang, not just disappear between seasons.
At least they didn't try to replace her with some other actress, like they did with Darrin on Bewitched, or when they replaced the youngest Partridge family boy (a brunette) with a blond kid. Like we wouldn't notice........
