Misc.

An idealized version of the state of Californa is opening in February, 2001 in what used to be the Disneyland parking lots (now you park in a distant parking structure and have to take a shuttle).Okay, here's the wholepop challenge: take a look at what's there at the website and come up with a ride that they SHOULD have included.http://disneyland.disney.go.com/disneylandresort/CaliforniaAdventure/

Ooh! Ooh! I've got one! "California Freeway." Sort of like the Autopia of old, but with too many lanes merging randomly, bumper-to-bumper traffic of aggressive drivers in SUVs talking distractedly on cell phones, smog...and guns!

Another thrill ride: California Real Estate Prices! You cannot ride this ride unless your income is this tall. Pregnant women will want to ride this ride but shouldn't, and neither should people with heart conditions.

This one is strictly for New Yorkers: the California house of horrors - where you have to share your car with a Valley Girl or with a laid back San Franciscoer while stuck on the LA Freeway. The added twist is the "Freeway Challenge" where the New Yorker is put in a car and given 20 minutes to get to a meeting in downtown LA (spoken from real life experiences)!

I like the arcade model, too: How about Guac-A-Mole, where you use giant mallets to hit avocados?

(That didn't translate as well as my original idea but some things aren't suitable for all surfing audiences.)
