Does anybody know the first song by an established band that was released on the internet and when that happened?

Strangely enough I do know, and will reveal the information later today. Until then, any guesses on the year? Was it:
A. Two years ago?
B. Four years ago?
C. Six years ago?
D. Nine years ago?

I'd have to go with B., Regis. I think it was four years ago.

Nine years is too long, but four years might be too short. Could it be C. 6?
And more to the point, could you just answer the #$%@& question?

Okay, okay. If Mingo ain't gonna tell, I will. Aerosmith's "Head First" is considered the first full-length commercial song released on the internet. That was six years ago. Answer C is correct--who gets the prize?
