The SF Chronicle's, Mick LaSalle gives a great comparison of the Charlie's Angels characters from the movie with the gals from the original series from the 70's. The URL to the 11-08 article is http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/chronicle/archive/2000/11/08/DD112071.DTL .
The gist of the piece is that the movie characters don't measure up to the TV show characters' standards. On feminism? The movie's "high school cheerleaders on amphetamines" don't hold a candle to the grown-up, crimebusting team of yesteryear. "FEMINIST CREDENTIALS Then: Being smarter than men. Now: Beating up on men." Can the same be said for today's version of the feminist movement? I think Jack should take this one.
