lunchbox was Scooby Doo, some time around around 1978? Then I had
Garfield at some point.
But my all-time
favorite was my Star Wars lunch box. It had R2D2 and C3PO on it. I
think my mother still has it...
only particularly cute story that I remember about lunch as a kid
was the horrible Army-Cheese sticks they used to serve at my elementary
school. We were supposed to eat everything they gave us, regardless
of whether or not we liked it. It usually wasn't too hard for me,
because I was never a picky kid. But those cheese sticks would end
up in some rather unusual places (under the benches on the playground,
in other kids' lunch plates after they choked down their own). And
they would never advertise when they were going to serve it...it was
like Russian Roulette. You go to school with lunch money and a handful
of ideas of what to do with the cheese if and when you get it..."
